Scott Schwartz

Scott Schwartz has completed his Master of Environmental Science and Management at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Here he specialized in Energy and Climate and Environmental Policy. His interests include clean energy policy, environmental economics, environmental law and policy, and energy markets.
As a Fellow with SI2, Scott is focused on initiatives surrounding agrivoltaics along broad-policy research. With Scott’s participation in the Solar Uncommon Dialogues initiative, he hopes to help develop a priority list of high-impact policies for federal and state utility-scale siting.
Previously, Scott worked as a policy and research intern with Sonoma Clean Power and the Solar Uncommon Dialogues initiative, where he synthesized research and co-authored literature reviews for the U.S. Department of Energy.
His graduate capstone examines pathways to fair building electrification in the Roseland community of Santa Rosa, California, with a focus on reducing barriers to adoption and informing community-scale decarbonization policies.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and playing soccer in his free time.
