Mish Ahmad

Mish Ahmad is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, specializing in Energy & Environment and Data Analytics. Her interests include grid modernization and community engagement in clean energy.
As a Fellow with SI2, she is focused on flexible interconnection frameworks and electricity affordability. She is also supporting the Solar Uncommon Dialogue in addressing the opportunities and challenges tribal nations face regarding large-scale solar development.
Previously, Mish served as Deputy Director for Sustainability at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, supporting the Climate Smart White House Initiative. She also served as a Program Analyst in the U.S. General Services Administration’s Clean Energy Division, where she supported the initiative to power federal facilities with 100% carbon pollution-free electricity (CFE).
Mish received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland. In her spare time, she likes to crochet, run on Lake Michigan, and read fantasy novels.
