Meeting Energy Demand with Clean Energy Innovation
ABOUT SI2 —
WHO WE ARE
Experts at the Solar and Storage and Industries Institute (SI2), are dedicated to accelerating the deployment of solar and energy storage across the United States to meet growing energy demand.
WHAT WE DO
We conduct evidence-based research to deliver solutions, actionable policy options, and public education initiatives that help state and federal lawmakers accelerate the adoption of affordable and reliable solar and storage energy.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS
Solar and storage technologies are critical tools for delivering affordable, reliable clean energy. SI2 is developing pathways to widespread solar and storage adoption, by equipping policymakers and stakeholders with the evidence-based research, education and resources needed to meet growing energy demand.
Areas of Expertise

Agrivoltaics
Agrivoltaics is the combination of agriculture and solar energy. This land is used for both farming and solar energy production and farmers benefit from the additional income solar provides.

Solar Model Policy
SI2 is at the forefront of identifying evidence-based policy solutions to address the systemic challenges facing the solar and storage industry.

Grid Interconnection`
The ability to connect solar and storage systems to the grid quickly and efficiently is essential to scaling solar projects across the nation.

Siting and Permitting
Streamlined land use, aligned policies, and faster, simpler permitting is needed to unlock the full potential of solar and storage to help the nation meet rising energy demand.
OUR WORK —
Featured Projects
FARMS Project
SI2 and its partners were selected for funding to execute a 2-year study of the technical and financial barriers to deploying large-scale agrivoltaic projects nationwide.
