The Solar and Storage Industries Institute (SI2) extends its gratitude to Abigail Ross Hopper for her extraordinary leadership as President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and founding chair of the SI2 Board of Directors.
In response to the announcement Abby is stepping down in her role as President and CEO, for SEIA, and by extension board chair of SI2, David Gahl, executive director of the Solar and Storage Industries Institute (SI2) issued the following statement.
“Abby’s record extends far beyond policy wins for clean energy. She built an enduring and inclusive community, and helped establish new institutions, including SI2. Abby saw the need for an organization to tackle big problems, and foster greater industry, non-profit, and academic collaboration. She provided steadfast support, strategic vision, and thoughtful guidance as founding SI2 board chair.”
Now managed by SI2, Abby helped create The Uncommon Dialogue on Large-Scale U.S. Solar Development and Land Conservation, a bipartisan initiative that brings together more than 50 stakeholder groups—including developers, farmers, ranchers, conservationists, researchers and government officials, to identify practical, community-based solutions to siting and permitting challenges.
SI2 joins the clean energy community in celebrating Abby’s leadership and wishes her well in her future endeavors.
